Winter Meetings and more

Well as crazy as the baseball world is right now, things are slowly winding down as we near the beginning of the year and closer and closer to spring training! I can't wait for catchers and pitchers report!! I miss my baseball! That day can't come soon enough!!

First off I have no idea who Randy Choate is but I'm super excited to see him pitch for St. Louis!! After last season's woes in the bullpen, it seems like he should be a huge help! Omg I'm super sad that Schumaker is gone!!! He is one of my oldie favorites from forever!!! I wish him the best as he heads to L.A. and I hope he will thrive. We saw what happened when we did the same thing with Tyler Greene.

I wish I could see inside John Mozeliak's and other members in the front office's mind because their silence this off season is driving me crazy! We have some gaps to fill in the infield and we need to solve them ASAP! We also need to figure out the 5th pitcher in the rotation! We just need to figure out this soon! I don't want to wait until Spring Training to figure this out!

Well here's to less silence with the Cardinals and some answers soon! We gotta keep faith in our birds!

Updates

Well the Hank Aaron awards were given out yesterday. While I'm glad that Miguel Cabrera won the award, because he deserved it but I am not happy that Buster Posey won the award for the National League. I swear if he wins MVP or Golden Glove!! I'm sorry I know I'm 100% biased because I'm a Cardinal fan but this is ridiculous. He's just having a good year. He is not that good! The only thing that he beat Yadier Molina in was batting average! Yadi was better in every other category but most likely he will not garner any respect this off season. Maybe I'm paranoid but I swear MLB does not look favorably on the Cardinals. Well no one really does except for Cardinal Nation. So I know this Cardinal fan will definitely be upset if Posey continues on this track for winning awards. I agree with comeback player of the year, even though it was just a broken leg, not that big a deal but whatever.

Well I'm still mourning the end of the Cardinals season. Everyone I see keeps asking me am I still mourning and yes I am. I just don't like October without Cardinal baseball! I really hope the Cardinals do well this upcoming season so I can enjoy October again. Nothing has really happened since I last posted from the Cardinal camp lately. Please please please vote for David Freese! We want at least one Cardinal to win an award! He definitely deserves the Heart and Hustle Award! Vote here: !!! Please please please!

I know that its a short update but I really needed to get out my feelings about this. I know its a rant but well I'm really tired of this guy! Well I'll try and update soon, we will see what happens with the World Series. Hopefully soon we will hear something about Berkman or something else from the Cardinals camp! Til then!

World Series and News

Well considering the Cardinals season is over there really isn't much for me to talk about yet, except for a couple of pieces of news that have come out in the past couple of days. I want to talk about the World Series really quick so I can stop thinking about it.

Ok so was anyone else expecting the Giants to go up 2 games to none? I sure wasn't! I kind of assumed after the past two series they have played in they would be down 2 games to none!! I guess that October is truly full of surprises! I feel bad for the Tigers though, they sent out their number one ace, who has been lights out this October, and he got roughed up. Who knew that Verlander would only last 3 innings! I expected more from the Tigers! I thought after what happened in 2006 after a long break, they would have learned something! They seemed to since they kept playing little warm up games through out this week but apparently it didn't help. Or they just haven't shown it yet. The Cardinals proved last year that anything can happen, so this World Series might just have an exciting ending. Also who expected Pablo Sandoval to hit 3 home runs in the first game of the World Series! It was a HUGE deal last year when Albert Pujols did it but who knew it would happen two years in a row?!? Especially since the last time it was achieved was in 1977! Crazy cool that it has happened twice in a row but as a Cardinal fan I'm kinda just like, whatever Albert Pujols did it last year. What a big way to start off the World Series especially since 2 of them were hit against Justin Verlander, the Tigers number 1 ace!

Cardinal camp has been pretty quiet this week, except for a couple big announcements. One announcement that's not really news because they had talked about it a couple of times towards the end of the season, the Cardinals have decided not to pursue free agent Kyle Lohse. Granted I am not a huge fan of Kyle Lohse, but it's heartbreaking since he was the only decent pitcher we had for most of the year and the post season! He was the most consistent after a rough start, and had the second most amount of wins! Plus he was the only pitcher to go more than 3 innings in more than one game this post season. I understand it because they don't think he's worth it anymore and he took awhile to be worth it the last time they gave him a big contract, but come on! Also the other big news out from the Cardinals recently is that they are not renewing the contract with Dyar Miller. Frankly I don't really know a lot about him except he is a bullpen coach, so I am not sad to see him go. After last year, I'm kind of glad there aren't a lot of big changes happening. I'm excited to see all of our pitchers working out and hopefully healing so they can be in better form for next year! It will be interesting to see who the starting rotation is because even our big aces struggled with injury or just flat out struggled this year. My opinion is we need to have 8 guys in the rotation: 5 in the regular rotation, and 3 back ups. After the problems we had this year, it seems like the perfect idea! Also congrats to Yadier Molina on your Fielding Bible Award! I know he has won this award a couple of times so to see him win once again it is so cool! Especially since it seems like little Buster Posey might be taking the Gold Glove and/or MVP away from him. (blech)

I will probably blog again soon about the World Series, especially if the Giants sweep :(. Unless there is more coming from Cardinals camp, I might just blog about my stories!

Explanation

Well I got this idea because I really want to be in the MLB Fan Cave. That is my ultimate goal. You do not have to a blog but it is highly suggested. Mostly I will be talking on here about the latest Cardinals news but occasionally I will offer my opinions on what is going on in the world of baseball.

Well right now my life is pretty empty. Without Cardinal baseball, October is no fun! I hate being in October when knowing my Cardinals are at home! I loved it last year when the Cardinals went all the way! It rekindled my fire for the team! I had so much fun watching the games and going to Game 6! I just miss it so much!

This summer I went to so many games. I had so much fun, I actually made a non baseball fan turn into a Cardinal fan! Emily Speight you are a rockstar for tagging along! We got the World Series ring replica, the trophy replica, and God knows what else. I have always been a fan, but this is my favorite summer of all! I can't wait til the season starts again so I can go back! I love Busch Stadium.

Either tomorrow, or sometime this week I will comment back on what has come out of the Cardinals clubhouse this week and the World Series and what I think is to come. Stay tuned!
